There is a place in the southwest where time has stood still. It is the only place in the United States where mail is still delivered via mule train, and is a place of extreme beauty and majesty. Nestled deep within the Grand Canyon’s southern arms, the area around the Havasupai village is an amazing place.
The word, “Havasupai” literally translates into “people of the blue green waters” and is the name of the tribe that has inhabited one of the most remote villages in the Southwest for centuries. They live near the amazing Havasu Falls, and equally impressive Mooney Falls, where travelers from across the globe hike down into the canyon’s depths just for a glimpse of the calcium carbonate waters that are an indescribable light blue.
Our designers have been to this remote and beautiful riparian habitat and have seen the amazing light blue and delicate green waters that spring forth from the aquifer that sprouts from the canyon’s walls and flow into the mighty Colorado River. It was such an impressive color, they wanted to make something special to match it.
The 17-inch Havasupai Necklace is three strands of high quality Czech glass beads, cut and dyed shell beads and dyed freshwater pearls, all exhibiting the same amazing and serene color of the Havasupai area. A unique and classy sterling silver clasp binds them together, making this just like the remote canyon—simply unforgettable!
