Saint Valentine of Terni. He inspired a pseudo-holiday where his acts regarding love, motivated him to become the one who secretly married couples when marriage was forbidden. Saint Valentine a priest in the Roman Empire who helped persecuted Christians during the reign of Claudius II, until he was thrown in jail and died on February 14th when he lamentably lost his head for such “atrocities.” Across the country, sweethearts exchange tokens of their undying love in the forms of flowers, chocolates and other reminders of their selfless love for one another.
